Cartier Ring Box

Busy Bean for a third year running worked in conjunction with Wood Brown who are responsible for the design and installation of the extravagant Cartier christmas shop display. This year we were asked to manufacture a six foot replica of one of Cartier’s ring boxes, to act as a not in a giant bow adorning the front of the building.

Narnia Premier Stage Set

Here we worked for and in conjunction with the events company Ingenius and Rollo Fuller, in the creation of the giant ornate gold stage arch and two entrance arches for the Royal World Premier of the new Narnia film The Dawn Treader in Leicester Square.

Polystyrene Horses

Numerous 4 foot polystyrene horses where hand sculpted by ourselves for the acclaimed florist Rob  Ven Heldon who was covering them with flowers to be part of giant floral table arrangements for a private function.

Bridging Home

The world largest arts festival The Liverpool Biennial, commissioned the world acclaimed artist Do Ho Suh to come up with this concept for a piece of art. It was our responsibility to install and replicate the house to the artists exact requirements. This piece is called: Bridging Home.

Specialist Paint Effects

Busy Bean continues to cover up the unsightly. Westminster Council have been so impressed with our paint effect capabilities on Telecommunications equipment they have given us the go ahead to disguise new ducting units in important areas of the borough.

All systems go

Busy Bean designed built and installed all aspects of an entire English country park theme, for Deloitte’s themed dinner to celebrate the world annual meeting. The event was held in the Great Room at Governor House, Park Lane.

Ga Ga

Off the back of our involvement with the Naomi Campbell polystyrene statue at Somerset House, we were asked to get involved for a similar creation of Lady Ga Ga for the Britt’s. (Concept: Kev Stenning of Rapido 3d ltd, structure: Factory Settings)

Bacardi themed DJ booth

Here we manufactured this bespoke DJ booth for a Bacardi sponsored event that was to tour eighteen different venues of the course of this summer.

Varian

Due to our expertise in Bespoke Polystyrene manufacturing & construction we were approached by the medical research company Varian medical systems to install a mock up cancer treatment room made from some per made units by Cordek and ourselves.

Yet again for the third year running Busy Bean was to be involved with the over-sized Christmas decorations designed by Christopher Hammond of the acclaimed Wood Brown. An eight foot ring box positioned above the main door was just part of our involvement this year.

Christmas themed Palm trees was the order from the Patrick Mavros's store in Fulham road this year. Our task to create four individual free standing authentic looking palm trees, that were to be white with a gentle silver dry brush over the bark, then adorned super silver palm fronds.

Busy Bean works Scenic department is going from strength to strength in our new field of work, paint cover ups and concealment's, the quality of our work in this industry is speaking for its self. Whether it be entire  portacabins, phone antennas, cable trays, air condition ducting, fake chimneys, fake trees and now even rock concealment's in the Highland and Snowden we're concealing it all.

Ben Ten Premier

Here we worked in conjunction and for Firecracker works to create a 3d, 10mtr wide 7mtr high replica of the Ben Ten watch. the watch was painted with invisible UV paint so at times it could look as if it was glowing from within. This was used as a stage set for an awards ceremony at the premier of the new Ben Ten film @ the Unicorn Theatre in London.

Yet again we painted some of Rob Van Heldons urns for this event, in a most complicated and original style. They were something that really stood out on there own, before they were adorned with Robs floral creations.

Busy Bean installed a 7mtr high statue of Naomi Campbell made entirely from polystyrene as a centre piece for the Somerset House Exhibition "Fashion Revolution" a feat we are tremendously proud of.

Arc 2009 Charity Ball

Here we replicated the look and feel of an old gentleman's smoking club with a large fire place and an authentic faux wood panelling paint effect for Fire Cracker works on there 12ft scenic flats for this years Mojo awards in London.

He we carved from polystyrene the forms of three and two headed swans incorporating a bowl shape in the middle for Rob Van Heldon, who's florists covered them with moss and created a central flower arrangement within the bowl. We produced ten of each which were used as table arrangement for a private event.

This year this awesome event was held at the old site of the Euro Tunnel in Waterloo East, London. Jon Kellit designer and Director of Starlight Design turned this space into an outstanding venue for the charities annual fund raiser. our scenic paint team was contracted to be onsite to produce various scenic paint effects.

The theme this year was to replicate the inside of a large gallery space within a marquee, of which Designer and Director Jon Kellit of Starlight Design managed with great class. Within the space there was giant MDF dividing walls. It was our scenic paint teams responsibility to make them look like genuine polished concrete blocks.

Employees certified for all boom & vertical mobile lifts

Busy Bean Works has recently seen the overhaul of all it artisans with the capabilities of operating mobile boom lifts (cherry pickers) and mobile vertical lifts (scissor lifts) to IPAF certified standards, we are legally allowed to operate these machines anywhere in Europe and some countries further afield. This allows us to access even the most awkward of places that no ladder or time consuming scaffolding systems can reach.

Painting on glass

Yet again Busy Bean Works pulls off the intricate task of painting on glass and remaining highly durable. This time for RVH Floral Design, marbling a large quantity of their glass urns and plinths, which had to be an exact copy of the existing marble in the Fine Jewellery Department of Harrods, where they were recently used for the wedding of the late Jade Goody.

An exact Restoration sculptural piece

Busy Bean Works took on the task of sculpting an exact copy of a old lion that once sat on top of the Kings Theatre for a top end GRP company called Jago Developments based in Chichester. We only had one photo of what the Lion once looked like and that was taken over one hundred years ago. Jago development moulded the item and replicated it six times before installing them back in their original places around the buildings roof

A unique Ark

A bespoke made Ark was designed and built by ourselves for and delightful Jewish family who held the daughter batmitzvah in marquee at the North London residents. We also designed and built a bespoke ceremony stage and a 100mters of hand woven screens which we placed between our handrails on all the raised areas. These were then dressed by the talented Florist Simon Lycett.

Having created gigantic bows to adorn the front of Cartier in London at Christmas 2007 for the acclaimed wood Brown, we were asked to get involved once again in 2008. This year our task was to create a three dimensional sleigh designed by Christopher Hammond of Wood Brown, which was to be flocked and positioned above the stores main entrance.

Launching the season for lastminute.com

Busy Bean Works took on the task of creating a spectacular extravaganza of pink lilos for lastminute.com. This saw the launch of there summer season titled" unleashing the summer". We created a free standing spiralling arch of lilos. That was erected in the heart of the City, Brompton Walk, London.

New addition to the team

An additional airless sprayer has been added to the collection of specialist equipment. This now enables us to provide one of the fastest onsite paint teams you will come across in our industry, and with this latest technology at our hand we are creating some of the most ultimate finishes to be found. Along with our huge range of scenic tools, compressors, ladders, masking kit, water and slops containers, lights, heaters, new scaff tower and generators which now allows us to be totally self contained we really are a onsite paint service to be reckoned with.

Mama Mia

The ornate gilded cross and blue hemisphere roof was produced by our props department for Starlight design who had the contract to build and erect the scenery for the World premier of Mama Mia, in London's Leicester Square.

Prestigious buildings cover up

Busy Bean lands a contract which involves the masking of a multitude of unsightly items on or attached to prestigious buildings across the UK. This photo shows an exact replica of an existing working chimney on a building in Chelsea London. A faux replica was created to cover some building mechanics on the opposite end of the roof terrace, which the building owner found "a tad ghastly".

This year for the 2008's ARC charity ball extravaganza which raised a staggering 25 million pounds on the night, we were asked by the talented party designer Jon Kellit from Starlight Design to clad the lighting rig to match in with the surrounding architectural features of the maritime buildings in Greenwich where the event was held.

We were commissioned to create two 10ft mossed dragons that were to sit upon two faux stone plinths, to act as centre pieces either side of a stage at a function to celebrate Sir Anthony Hopkins. The dragons were first designed by our in house team and then sculpted from FRA polystyrene. Then covered in blanket moss creating that organic sculptural look.
